Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 6, 2026 · Last updated: 2026-09-06
Your privacy is the point of this product. BrokerBridge is designed to keep your financial information on your own Mac. This policy explains, plainly, what happens to your data.
3.1 The short version
- BrokerBridge is a local application. Your statements, transactions, holdings and all derived data are stored on your device, under your macOS user account.
- We, YBM Labs, do not collect, receive, store or have any access to your financial data.
- The App contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no telemetry. It does not “phone home.”
- The only times any data leaves your Mac are optional, user-controlled network calls — license verification, market prices, and (if you enable it) AI extraction — described below.
3.2 Who we are (data controller)
YBM Labs, Ontario, Canada, is responsible for this policy. Contact: support@ybmlabs.ca.
3.3 Information stored locally on your device (not sent to us)
When you use the App, the following is created and kept only on your Mac: - the statements and files you import, kept in a local “vault”; - extracted transactions, holdings, accounts, people you add, watchlists, and settings, in a local database file; - a local cache of market prices/exchange rates; - app preferences (e.g. theme, display currency). We have no access to any of this. You control it, can back it up, and can erase it at any time using the App’s backup, delete and master-reset tools.
3.4 Information we (and our processors) do receive
- When you buy a license: your purchase is processed by Gumroad, which collects the information needed to complete the sale (such as your name, email address, and payment details) and issues your license key. Gumroad processes this as merchant of record under Gumroad’s own privacy policy. We receive limited order information (such as your email and that a purchase was made) so we can provide support and deliver your key. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Support emails: if you email us, we receive the information you choose to send (your email address and message). We use it only to help you.
3.5 Optional network calls made by the App — and what they send
All of the following are optional and happen only as part of features you use: - License verification (Gumroad). When you activate or check your license, the App sends only your license key and the product identifier to Gumroad to confirm validity. No financial or portfolio data is sent. - Market prices & exchange rates (Yahoo Finance via the yfinance library). When you view live prices or performance, the App requests quotes by ticker symbol and currency pair only (e.g. “AAPL”, “USDCAD”). It does not send your holdings, quantities, account numbers or any personal information — a request for a symbol’s price reveals nothing about what or how much you own. - AI-assisted extraction (Anthropic Claude API) — off by default. If you choose the Claude extraction engine and provide your own Anthropic API key, then the specific statement content you extract is sent to Anthropic for processing, under Anthropic’s terms and privacy policy. This is entirely your choice; the built-in importers, the column-mapper and the “web-AI paste” workflow do not send your data anywhere through the App. - App/website you visit: clicking a “Buy a license” or support link opens your browser to the relevant third-party page.
3.6 Your Anthropic API key
If you enter an Anthropic API key, it is stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac — never in a plain file and never transmitted to us. It is used only to authenticate your own requests to Anthropic when you use the Claude engine.
3.7 No sale of data, no advertising
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. The App shows no ads and includes no third-party trackers.
3.8 Data retention and deletion
Because your App data lives on your device, you control retention. You can delete individual items, delete all imported files, restore from a backup, or run a master reset that erases the database and clears the vault. Uninstalling the App and deleting its data folder removes its local data. Purchase/support records held by us or Gumroad are retained as needed for tax, accounting and support obligations.
3.9 Children
The App is intended for adults managing their own finances and is not directed to children under the age of majority in their province/territory.
3.10 Security
Your data stays on your Mac, protected by your operating-system account and any disk encryption you enable (we recommend enabling FileVault). Network calls described above use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but because we do not hold your financial data, there is nothing on our side to breach.
3.11 Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including under Canada’s PIPEDA and, where applicable, other laws), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information that we hold (essentially, purchase and support records). To exercise these rights, contact support@ybmlabs.ca. For data stored in the App on your device, you already have full control through the App’s tools. For data held by Gumroad or Anthropic, please refer to their respective privacy policies.
3.12 International users
We are based in Canada. If you use the App elsewhere, the optional services above (Gumroad, Yahoo, Anthropic) may process limited data in other countries under their own policies.
3.13 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the current version and material changes will be posted on our website.
